Greenbushes Fun Run 2022

Greenbushes is gearing up for the annual Greenbushes Fun Run and Mountain Bike (MTB) Event on Sunday May 15.

The event is open to juniors, seniors and veterans and features a 10 km run, 5 km run/walk, 15 km mountain bike ride or 5 km mountain bike ride.

It is the 7th year the event has been held with funds raised this year going to Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA).

Since its inception in 2014 the event has raised almost $50,000 for BCNA as well as $12,000 for the South- West Autism Network, $4,195 for Sock it to Sarcoma and $11,513 for the Telethon Kids Institute.

Following the cancellation of the event in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the organisers are hoping this year, the 7th to be hosted at Greenbushes, will be bigger and better than ever.

Registrations are now open and can be made via the BlueChip Timing website.

The Greenbushes Fun Run and Mountain Bike Event is coordinated by Grow Greenbushes Incorporated with assistance from Talison Lithium, SG Mining and the Shire of Bridgetown Greenbushes.

Many local businesses have supported the even by giving donations for prizes.

The picturesque course begins and ends at the Greenbushes Sports Complex and traverses bushland around the sports ground and north-western areas of town.

The event starts early morning and presentations are held late morning at the Greenbushes Sports Complex with prizes for various categories donated by local businesses.

It also features a mini field of pink ladies to commemorate people who lost their lives to breast cancer.

In 2019 close to 300 people registered for the event across the various categories.
